A Little Information About Myself

Hello to everyone who has been reading posts on Mac from Ireland since day one. Also, welcome all newcomers. I've recently realized that my blog does not have any real information on myself. Well, this page will give a quick run down of basic things you will need to know about me.

First and foremost my name is Macky Ireland. I am from North Jersey and am currently a junior in college. I was the Sports Editor of my high school newspaper senior year. After writing for my school newspaper I found that I enjoyed writing about things I was passionate for. A month after I graduated I felt it would be in my best interest to start a blog and continue writing.

Originally the blog started off as M&B Report being named after my first initial and my friend's first initial. We also got inspiration from our favorite sports analyst, Bill Simmons, podcast the BS Report. We were going to make videos and podcasts and I would handle the writing. After my friend could not help as much as he would like to. This led to me changing the name to Mac from Ireland. The blog has now been around for two and a half years and I still try to post as often as I can.

Now that you know why I created the blog here is more information about me. I love sports. I love watching sports, attending sporting events, and playing sports. My favorite sport since I was a kid is basketball. Growing up playing basketball so much I would watch my favorite players on TV and try to imitate them when I went outside to shoot or even in games. Soon enough I fell in love with the NBA.

As a kid, there were two local NBA teams to watch. There were the New Jersey Nets and the New York Knicks. I started to follow basketball at a young age and unlike my friends, no one in my family really followed basketball. This meant that no one forced me to like any team in particular. At the time the New Jersey Nets were one of the best teams in the NBA and were led by Jason Kidd. Knowing that my state had one of the best teams and arguably the best point guard to ever play, it was an easy choice to become a Nets fan. Recently I have become a contributor to the Brooklyn Nets FanSided page Nothin' But Nets. It is awesome to be a part of a community that loves the team as much as I do.

For NFL I did not care for it at all as a kid. But I had a sixth-grade teacher who made us pick a team to follow. We would use statistics from games to do certain math problems. The only thing I knew about football was that the Green Bay Packers were usually good, had a great quarterback in Brett Farve, and I liked their colors. That day I became a Packers fan and haven't looked back since.

Aside from sports, I like shooting and editing videos. I've learned a lot in terms of tips and tricks with filmmaking and it adds another dynamic to watching films at home or at the theater. To understand and critique films on more than just the storyline is interesting. Sometimes the way a scene was shot could make the moment better or worse. Another thing I like to do in my spare time is play video games.

This page is a little longer than intended, but now you know how this blog came about, what teams I root for, and what some of my hobbies are. Thank you for stopping by my blog!
